Accounting & closing

Your accounts build themselves as you work.

Every invoice, every payment, every expense posts itself – to the right account. At year-end, one click closes the books, and the opening balance sheet for the new year is ready.

Closing

Accounts that add up

Double-entry, based on the Swiss SME chart of accounts – and built so that it can’t fall out of balance.

  • Double-entry bookkeepingChart of accounts based on the Swiss SME chart of accounts — it belongs to you, not to the software. Journal, balance sheet, income statement.
  • Year-end closingOne click, confirmed with the year: income statement accounts are closed to equity, and the opening balance sheet for the new year is created automatically. Beforehand, Buchify tells you what’s still open — unposted bank transactions, an unbalanced journal — and won’t let you close anything that doesn’t add up.
  • Revenue account per line itemMerchandise to 3200, services to 3400 — set on the item, carried over to the invoice.
  • Manual entriesFor everything that doesn’t come from a document. Debit, credit, text — and into the audit log.
  • ReportsRevenue by month, largest customers, result. The chart of accounts as CSV for your fiduciary.
  • Every document as a PDFInvoices, credit notes, reminders — exactly as they were sent, for ten years.
  • Reversal instead of deletionAn entry is never deleted. Undoing works via a reversing entry – traceable, as the GeBüV requires.
  • Export of all dataA zip file with every table as CSV and every document as PDF — at any time, without asking.

The dashboard

The first look in the morning. A page that tells you whether there’s anything to do today — and otherwise stays quiet.

  • Open receivablesWhat’s outstanding, what’s overdue, and for how long.
  • Ageing analysisOpen invoices by age — at a glance, not in a table.
  • Latest entriesWhat last landed in the books, and where it came from.
  • Reminders awaiting approvalWhat the reminder run has prepared waits here — nothing is sent until you say yes.

Questions about accounting

Do I need accounting knowledge?

Not for invoices, reminders and bank reconciliation. You write invoices and see who has paid; the revenue account comes from the item. For the year-end closing, basic knowledge helps — or you give your fiduciary their own access. They then see exactly what you see.

Can my fiduciary work with me?

Yes. You invite them under “Users” with the fiduciary role; they get their own login with a second factor and see all their client companies in one overview. Access is included in the subscription.

Can I bring over my existing data?

Yes. From bexio we bring over the whole financial year – contacts, journal, opening balances, customer and supplier invoices – first as a preview, then without duplicates. From other programs, customers come via CSV. How switching works →
